Latest Golf to a Tee News
March 2020 ...
Our apologies for getting behind with our News update - no excuses, other than we have been incredibly busy - including the 2 Directors working in South Africa for several weeks! Below we are reluctantly leaving fabulous Simola at Knysna!
2020 saw GTAT grow by 22% as a business - in a year when most travel businesses at best stood still and some big names disappeared.
Gary Pike joining the GTAT team will see us able to bring you even more Escorted Events in 2020. Gary has been hosting travel groups for 25 years and brings us not just lots of experience, but also knowledge of resorts around the world. So a big and formal welcome to Gary from the GTAT team. Here is Adam and Gary working together in Fuerteventura last month.
Benchmarking GTAT :
When we do get a quiet moment we are always checking what are competitors are up to. Here are just some of our current thoughts:
- GTAT is highly solvent compared to others - many clearly live "hand to mouth". Perhaps it is the Director's past experience in Financial Services, but we believe in leaving strong cash reserves in the business.
In 2018 a change to Travel Industry Regulations required that Tour Operators have more than a client account to protect client monies - they must also have either a Bond or Financial Failure Insurance, as well.
So please do double check if a company has a Bond or Financial Failure Insurance in place. For your protection we have Financial Failure Insurance and we have a Client Account - where you money sits until the completion of your holiday.
- Our main product is Escorted Holidays and our research shows that our prices are consistently lower than our competitors, for similar packages.
This also includes our Single Supplements - we really do make sure these are fairly priced.
December 2019 ...

The last couple of months have been busy at GTAT!
In October it was Marrakesh - as members of IAGTO we annually get to meet 1500 suppliers from around the world at the International Golf Travel Market. It a great opportuinity to meet existing suppliers and engage with new ones. Plus it was a chance to look at the local Morrocco golf.
In November we attended the World Travel Market in London, to amongst other things progress our entry into the Mauritius market - more news on this coming soon! A little treat was a invite to The Spanish Embassy, as Spain wanted to show it's support to UK Tour Operators post the demise of Thomas Cook.
After our Arizona tour in November - Terry took a lucky couple of clients to Las Vegas to learn more about the golf around Vegas town.
Then it was off to Murcia and Alicante for Terry to find more destinations for the future!
All of his means you will see many more desinations on our website in the next few weeks.
A busy month for GTAT, with 4 Escorted Groups in Belek, another in Almeria and Terry hosted a group in Arizona. Congraulatons to all of the shirt winners and thank you to everyone who has left more 5* Google Reviews for Golf to a Tee.Two holes in one - Turkey & Arizona. Nick & Jane!
We have never had a hole in one on a GTAT Escorted event, until the last few days and now we have had 2 in the space of a few days.
First with the ace was Nick Ford at the Montgomerie in Belek, the course was played just a couple of days after it had been home to the Turkish Open, in a group hosted by Fred Jewsbury. Then just a few days later at Ventana Canyon, Tucson, Arizona on the 3rd - one of the most photagraphed holes in the USA, Jane Morel-Orchard holed her tee shot. Terry was in the group behind to see Jane and the others celebrate her ace.
Congratulations to our "ace pair" Nick and Jane!
